With the statement from Transport 2000 that ’the only people who would gain from the new road would be car users and these are the very people we are supposed to be discouraging’ Chairman of the Pro Kingskerswell Bypass responded ’At last we were able to see the distorted attitude of this lobby group. Someone somewhere at sometime is going to have to return to realism - the sadness for me is that the resolution for the problem - a new road is now unlikely to come in my lifetime’ How on earth anyone can believe that log jams of traffic 12 hours a day during peak times doesn’t affect everyone is beyond belief.
