Slow progress is being made

On January 9th 2004 Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Transport Tony McNulty, when opening a new Torquay Town Centre pedestrian priority, once again confirmed his departments commitment to the establishment of a Kinskerswell bypass to assist the current A380 road between Penn Inn and Torquay’s Hamelin Way.

With Devon County Council having approved further amendments to the original scheme at Aller junction in late January 2004, it is clear that behind the scenes slow progress is being made towards the ultimate goal. The idea of two lanes being built on the Penn Inn flyover has been rejected and so at the present time one lane of inward traffic with another line out are still in the current plan.
